I still find these two candidates equally odious. McCain’s pentagon mindset is as disturbing to me as Obama’s elitism.

This campaign year seems to have polarized our country more than a presidential election usually does or perhaps it is only emphasizing the separationist tendencies in our population.

“…the people began to be distinguished by ranks, according to their riches and their chances for learning; yea, some were ignorant because of their poverty, and others did receive great learning because of their riches. Some were lifted up in pride, and others were exceedingly humble…and thus there began to be a great inequality in the land.” They were puffed up with pride and sought
“…for power, and authority, and riches, and the vain things of the world.” (3 Nephi 6:12,13,15)

Elitism (or false pride) and violence are hallmarks of a disintegrating society and I fear neither of these men will help this escalating condition.

We’re seeing a lot of woodpiles in people’s yards this year and many of the large old victorian houses have “for sale” signs on them. I would hate to think we had to heat OUR big, old place with fuel oil all winter.

This woodpile is across the street from our house and is drying a bit before going into the cellar for the old wood furnace that R made up many years ago. The stove leaks fumes and is a pain for arthritic bodies to tend down in the basement but it sees us through the fall and spring while we are here.

Early morning has always been my favorite time of day and especially in autumn when mists rise from the river on those frosty mornings.

I installed adobe photoshop elements 6 a while ago and am having a very difficult time figuring it out so haven’t added pics lately. Think I may go back to picassa.
